Animal Planet to air show on animals living on the 'Equator'

Animal Planet will broadcast the show Equator every Tuesday at 9 pm.

The Equator is a critical region for both climate and evolution, where the sun’s intensity can be a gift or a challenge for wildlife. This series explores the animal and plant life in six key equatorial regions: Africa’s Rift Valley, the Amazon Basin, the Andes mountains, Southeast Asia, the Indo-Pacific, and the Galapagos Islands.

In these regions, animals live in constantly warm and humid environments. While it may seem like a tropical paradise, it’s also home to half of the planet’s species, increasing the likelihood of predation. Life at the Equator grows faster, larger, and in more unusual forms than anywhere else on Earth.
